I sent ours in

girl meets boy
huddled in the fetal position
in a puddle of rain water
in front of a bar-
she had this army jacket
and when we would go
to her car to smoke
she’d have to stretch
and reach for the handoff
her wrist would slide
out of the sleeve
just a little bit
just a little
and man
she had me
and I didn’t even know it
