Change of Pace
by Adienne Koch

Do I strike you, do I sink in, do I resonate?
If so, don’t slip away
Your glance was half-hearted, maybe you were late
But what is time, anyway?

Check the clocks on the wall, in the car, on your wrist
Change them all, let’s synchronize
Stop-wait a minute, just a second, that’s all
Let me read what’s in your eyes

Catch a bus, catch a train, catch a ferry, catch a plane
Meetings, deadlines, time binds-no other way to go
eservation, transportation, accommodation, destination
We’re going too slow! What time is it, anyway?

What’s your hurry what’s your rush? Slow down, hear the hush
What’s it worth, today? There’s another way to go-
slow down, I’ll catch your soul
Second glance has a lot to say

Meditation, contemplation, relaxation, celebration
There is another way
